Foundations
1974 – 1999
- 1974 Founded as Osprey Metals — Milland Road, Neath, Wales.
- 1978 First powder atomiser developed; first technology licence sold, to Deloro.
- 1979 Spray-forming licence sold to Sandvik Steel.
- 1984 Patent RE31767 — shaped articles from sprayed molten metal.
- 1985 Becomes part of Sandvik.
- 1986 Patent 4779802 — gas metal atomiser.
- 1989 Queen's Award for Export Achievement.
- 1990 Patent 5110631 — metal spray deposits.
- 1995 Fine-powder plant commissioned.

- 2001 Patent 6312535 — silicon alloys for electronic packaging.
- 2002 ISO 9001 achieved.
- 2004 ISO 14001 achieved.
- 2008 VIGA plant commercialised in Sandviken.
- 2010 Queen's Award for Enterprise, International Trade.
- 2012 POW 8 — first one-tonne fine-powder plant commissioned.
- 2019 POW 11 commissioned; titanium EIGA plant inaugurated in Sandviken.
- 2021 AS9100D aerospace quality in Sandviken and ISO 45001 achieved.
- 2024 Fifty years of operation.
- 2026 Independence — Osprey stands on its own with Mimir as new owner.
